1. Key Responsibilities
1.1 Human Resources Management
a) Assist
senior management in understanding and implementing HR policies and procedures.
b) Develop and implement HR policies, including performance management, recruitment,
disciplinary procedures, and
staff promotions.
c) Manage staff recruitment processes,
including job descriptions, advertisements, application reviews, shortlisting,
interviews, selection, and appointment.
d) Update monitoring and evaluation tools
and promote equality and diversity among employees.
e) Identify and analyze employee training
needs in collaboration with departments and senior management.
f)
Develop HR planning strategies that
address both immediate and long-term staff requirements.
g)
Advise on pay, benefits, and promotion
policies.
h)
Interpret and advise on employment laws.
i)
Handle grievances and implement
disciplinary procedures.
j)
Ensure proper organization and
accessibility of employee records.
k)
Develop staff development plans,
retention strategies, HR needs assessments (SWOT analysis), and annual
recruitment plans.
l)
Implement legally binding decisions from
the disciplinary committee and other staff supervisors.
m)
Prepare staff statistics for senior
management reporting.
n)
Ensure staff have adequate office space
and a safe working environment.
o)
Prepare contracts, appointment, and
confirmation letters.
p)
Plan and implement induction programs
for new staff.
q)
Manage staff exit processes, including
handovers and final financial statements.
r)
Issue employment testimonials when
required.
s)
Supervise and monitor apprenticeship and
internship programs at PUR.
t)
Prepare statistics for staff medical
insurance.
u)
Organize social activities for staff
well-being in line with PUR policies.
v)
Handle all legal related matters if the
institution including, advice and referrals to appropriate professionals.
w) Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or superior.
1.2
International Office Responsibilities
a)
Facilitate the recruitment of
international students.
b)
Address queries from international
students and process equivalency certifications.
c)
Collaborate with the Dean of Students on
matters concerning international student welfare.
d)
Maintain up-to-date records of
international students.
e)
Represent PUR at recruitment fairs.
f)
Coordinate staff and student mobility
programs.
g)
Organize cultural events promoting
inclusivity and celebrating diversity in collaboration with the Dean of
Students.
h)
Initiate and follow up on partnerships
with universities, research institutions, and organizations worldwide,
connecting them to relevant PUR units based on the partnership domains.
2.
Requirements
a)
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human
Resources Management, Law, Business Administration, Organizational Development,
or a related field.
b)
Proven experience in HR management and
administration.
c)
Knowledge of labor laws and best HR
practices.
d)
Experience in student affairs or
international student recruitment is an added advantage.
e)
Strong organizational, communication,
and interpersonal skills.
f)
Ability to work effectively in a
multicultural and academic environment.
g)
Proficiency in English and French;
knowledge of Kiswahili is an added advantage.
h)
Competence in using HR management
software and MS Office tools.
i)
A professional qualification in HRM will
be an advantage.

II. Lecturer of Mathematics
The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is seeking a
dedicated and highly qualified individual to join its academic team as a Lecturer
of Mathematics. The ideal candidate will contribute to the university’s mission
through teaching, research, and community engagement, while fostering academic
excellence in the field of Mathematics.
I. Duties and
Responsibilities
A. Teaching and
Learning
a)
Teach Mathematics-related courses at the undergraduate
level.
b)
Develop, review, and update course content to align with
current trends and the competency-based curriculum approach.
c)
Supervise student research projects and internships.
d)
Provide academic advising and support to students.
B. Research and
Publications
a)
Conduct research in the field of Mathematics or related
areas.
b)
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and
present them at conferences.
c)
Engage in collaborative research with other faculty
members and institutions.
d)
Seek funding opportunities to support research projects.
e)
Participate in community outreach programs organized by
the university.
f)
Provide consultancy services where applicable.
g)
Attend and actively participate in departmental, faculty,
and university meetings.
h)
Contribute to the development of academic programs and
strategic plans.
i)
Participate in training, workshops, and seminars relevant
to the discipline.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of teaching experience at the secondary school or university level, strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and their applications, excellent oral and written communication skills in both instructional languages, a commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, and active participation in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and institutional events under faculty leadership.
