As the sun rises on a new academic year, Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is excited to welcome both new and returning students to the 2024-2025 session. With a commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, this year promises to be filled with opportunities, growth, and community engagement. The opening of New Academic Year 2024-2025, was held on 4th October, 2024 at PUR Huye Campus.
A Warm Welcome from the DVCA
The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics (DVCA), Rev. Dr. Viateur Habarurema, officially declared the academic year open, warmly welcoming all students. “You have made the right choice to join PUR. You came at the right place, at the right time. We are here for you,” he reassured the students. His words reflected the university's commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Faculty Introductions
In a lively orientation session, the Deans of various faculties, Faculty of Development Studies (FDS), Faculty of Education (FED), Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies (FTRS), and the Faculty of Architecture and Green Technology (FAGT), took center stage. They introduced the diverse programs offered within their faculties, highlighting the unique opportunities available to students. Each faculty is dedicated to nurturing future leaders and professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Emphasis on Quality Assurance
The Director of Quality Assurance (DQA) addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of quality in teaching and learning. She shared insights on how digitalization is transforming education, creating new pathways for students to excel. Opportunities highlighted included student exchange programs, participation in cutting-edge research projects, and involvement in extracurricular activities such as training sessions and workshops, are designed to enrich the academic experience and prepare students for successful careers.
Open Dialogue and Student Support
An interactive Q&A session allowed students to voice their questions and concerns about university life. The administration assured students that their feedback is a top priority and that the university is dedicated to addressing their needs. This open dialogue is a cornerstone of PUR's approach, emphasizing the importance of community and collaboration.
