The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) invites applications for the
following full-time positions. In alignment with its mission to be a reference

I. OPEN POSITIONS & SUMMARIES
1. IT
Specialist (1 Position): Based at PUR Karongi Campus. Responsible for managing local campus IT
infrastructure, network security, and providing direct technical support.
2. Director of
ICT and Virtual Learning (1 Position): Based at the Huye Campus. Responsible for directing
university-wide ICT strategies, virtual learning platforms, managing central
academic/administrative Management Information Systems (MIS), and coordinating
institutional IT infrastructure.
II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 For IT Specialist (Karongi Campus)
§ Maintain the
Karongi campus Local Area Networks (LAN/WLAN) and computer labs.
§ Ensure
operational data backup and strict cybersecurity protocols for local campus operations.
§ Administer
and troubleshoot the local nodes of the Campus Management Information System
(MIS).
§ Manage and
optimize local Campus E-learning systems (Moodle), providing technical support
to lecturers and students.
§ Troubleshoot
hardware or software errors and integrate innovative operational technologies.
2.2 For Director of ICT and Virtual Learning (Huye Campus):
§
Oversee, architect, and optimize the University's
central E-learning platforms (such as Moodle or other Learning Management
Systems) at an institutional level.
§
Direct, administer, and maintain the primary
Management Information System (MIS) to secure seamless data flows for
university academic and administrative records.
§
Formulate and deploy comprehensive university-wide
cybersecurity, data privacy, and disaster recovery backup infrastructure
protocols.
§
Provide strategic leadership to the ICT department,
managing innovative technology adoptions and the growth of virtual learning
frameworks.
III. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITIONS
1. IT Specialist (Karongi Campus)
§ Education: Minimum of
a Bachelor’s degree in
Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or Network Engineering.
§ Experience: Prior
professional experience in IT network administration, system troubleshooting,
or technical support is a strong asset.
§ Location
requirement: Willingness to reside in or relocate to Karongi is mandatory.
§ Employment Status: The candidate must
not hold any active employment contract with another employer at the
time of appointment.
2. Director of ICT and Virtual Learning (Huye Campus)
§
Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Information and
Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
Systems Engineering.
§
Experience: Proven leadership experience in
overseeing institutional ICT systems, managing enterprise database operations,
or coordinating E-learning ecosystems is a strong asset.
§
Location requirement: Willingness to reside in or
relocate to Huye is mandatory.
§
Employment
Status: The candidate must not hold any active
employment contract with another employer at the time of appointment.
